Looking for an area course that’ll fit like a glove? Take a swing at these 3 popular member clubs!

Colonial Golf Course

2763 N. 72nd Ave.
Hart, MI 49420
(231) 873-8333

Right away, the stately clubhouse at The Colonial’s entrance will catch your attention. The beautiful sweeping property of Colonial Golf Course in Hart dates back to an original 1858 land deed, signed by the 15th President of the United States, James Buchanan. The club officially opened for play in 1999.

Enjoy gorgeous views on this 27-hole, par 72 championship course. The nine-hole, par 30 Heritage course is perfect for beginner and junior players who still want a challenge. The Colonial also features a 12-acre driving range, providing the perfect place to work on your drive or warm up before your next round.

After your game, enjoy drinks or a meal at BAR72, which features spacious indoor seating and a lovely outdoor patio.

Golden Sands Golf Course

2501 Wilson Rd.
Silver Lake, MI 49436
(231) 873-4909

Though all are welcome, families in particular will love golfing together at Golden Sands, a 9-hole, par 4 course with fantastic greens and an incredible layout. The course features several holes long enough to work your driver but is overall short enough to enjoy a relaxing game. Each hole features 4 sets of tees so everyone in the family can play together.

Make a day of it by stopping at the Bucket Bar Restaurant after your round. Here, you’ll find an extensive list of drinks and cocktails to choose from, plus a 10-page menu full of delicious dishes (including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options). Those with little ones in tow will truly appreciate the spacious room where kids can run and play while parents sit back and relax.

Oceana Golf Club

3333 W. Weaver Rd.
Shelby, MI 49455
(231) 861-4211

Oceana Golf Club sprang from a true love of golf among Shelby and Hart residents in the 1950s and 60s. Officially opened in 1962, the course was built from the ground up by area volunteers. Everyone from farmers to business owners lent their hands and skills to make the dream of a local club become a reality.

Conveniently located off Oceana Drive between Shelby and Hart, today, the club’s 18-hole, par 73 course perfectly combines challenge with playability. All holes feature 3 sets of tees, making it excellent for all skill levels, and there’s also a 5-hole practice putting green. Both beginners and advanced players will find Oceana Golf Club the ideal place to practice their short game and enjoy time with friends and family.

Though numerous improvements and updates have made for even better facilities and playing conditions over the years, Oceana Golf Club still upholds the founding legacy that originally made it so special.
