Oceana County is known for its natural splendor, and we have many well-cared-for parks and trails that showcase the area’s glorious beauty. Our parks will put you on Lake Michigan beaches, a giant sand mountain, inland lakes and rivers, woodland bike trails, wetlands for bird watching, or a spot to honor veterans.
One of our most treasured trails that draws visitors on foot, bicycle, snowmobile, and cross country skis is the William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Bike Trail State Park. This 22 mile paved trail that was once an extension of the C&O Railroad line connects Hart to the twin cities of Montague and Whitehall. Along the way, users will enjoy numerous scenic outlooks, picnic areas, bridges, and waterways while passing through lush forest and farmland.
If you’ve come to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes area for rest and relaxation, excitement and adventure (or both!), our parks and trails have just what you need.
