It’s Still too Soon to Say Farewell
It’s about that time of the year when the days gets colder and the air begins to cool down. But before summer is gone for good, make sure you check everything off your Silver Lake bucket list.
- Mac Woods Dune Rides
This business has been a staple in the community for 92 years. This past summer, they had the University of Michigan Wolverines’ football team visit them! As you take a ride in one of their buggies, you will see the beautiful landscape of the sand dunes, learn about the history of the area, and gain knowledge about the geography. This ride is fun for kids and adults! It closes for the season on October 2nd.
- Little Sable Point Lighthouse
This tower is well worth the climb. At the top, you can see down the Lake Michigan shoreline for miles while getting a glimpse of the gorgeous blue waters. The lighthouse is laden with history, which you can catch throughout your climb. This jewel is done for the summer soon on September 18th.
- Silver Lake Sand Dunes State Park
The draw of the area is, of course, the sand dunes. If you’re still looking to tear it up, then you have just a couple of weeks left to do so. When the dunes close on October 31, you could take your horse with Michigan Shoreline Horseback Riding and explore the dunes that way!
Even though the season is quickly coming to a close, you still have time to enjoy the Silver Lake area.
