Promoting the Shoreline Horseback Riding Season at
Silver Lake State Park Equestrian Staging Area (aka Off Road Vehicle Parking)

Participants must bring their horse.

To participate you will need:

• Bring your own horse.
• $10.00 / horse Michigan DNR Registration. Click the Michigan DNR Shoreline Horseback Ride Registration tab on our Home page. Registrations open on September 1 at 8:00a.m. EDT annually.
• Michigan Recreation Passport on your vehicle. Click the Michigan DNR Shoreline Horseback Ride Registration tab on our Home page.
• Please bring your own manure fork and muck bucket to pick up your hay and manure in the Silver Lake State Park Equestrian Staging Area (aka Off Road Vehicle Parking Area), 8960 W Fox Rd, Mears, MI 49436.
• Please bring water for both you and your horse. There is no drinking water resource available on location.
• Optional extra set of clothes including socks and boots.
• Optional blanket or cooler for your horse.

This mutually beneficial partnership is providing an opportunity for more than  800 equestrians to ride the Lake Michigan shoreline, connect with MHC and  DNR and explore a new region of Michigan on horseback.
