Shelby Optimist Club Derby Day

The Kentucky Derby is Saturday, May 4th, 2024!
This unique public event takes place in the Shelby Optimist Club building on Industrial Drive in Shelby. Admission is $20, and proceeds this year go to Shelby Township Park. The park is going to be such an asset to the community in the coming years and we are excited to be able to show our support.
Dress like you’re going to the races! Enjoy food included with admission. Place a bet on mock horse races sponsored by local businesses. Sip a mint julep or another beverage at our cash bar. Compete for prizes in our fun and colorful Derby Hat Contest. Buy raffle tickets for prizes such as golf packages, spring-themed items, and a Magic Mystery Cooler filled with all kinds of cool stuff.
After the races, we encourage you to stay for a DJ & dancing.
