The Monarch Yoga Studio
The Monarch is a yoga and community movement studio in Hart rooted in historic preservation, inclusion, and community care. Launched from a visionary, award‑winning idea in April 2025, The Monarch began after winning the City of Hart’s Pitch for Parcel contest, earning the opportunity to purchase three historic buildings, part of the 1885 Hart Congregational United Church of Christ campus—for $1. The project is reactivating over a century of community architecture as a vibrant, accessible hub for arts, wellness, and connection in Oceana County.
Since opening its first renovated space, The Monarch has grown into a pay‑what‑you‑can studio offering yoga, Zumba, children’s and adult dance, family movement classes, somatic therapy, medical yoga, qigong, and community support programming. The long‑term vision includes continued restoration of the full campus, alongside plans for farm‑fresh food access and expanded community use.
The Monarch is a family‑powered, community‑centered space built to preserve Hart’s history while creating welcoming opportunities for movement, healing, creativity, and belonging for people of all ages, now and for generations to come.
