Oceana Hispanic Center
The Oceana Hispanic Center is uniting Communities through literacy and leadership.
Language/Cultural Support
Our volunteers are trained to help individuals with minor issues regarding language and cultural barriers. We help to put people in contact with the necessary emergency services and work to assist agencies in connecting with our Spanish-speaking residents.
Legal Support
We have volunteers who can assist our community members with obtaining their Mexican passport/matriculate, filing certain immigration forms, applying for Deferred Action, locating a Spanish-speaking attorney, and navigating the local legal system with basic issues.
Community Forums/Training
We regularly hold trainings and community forums on topics such as education, immigration, finances, and family. Where possible, we work to coordinate these with other local agencies and organizations.
