The river connecting the two lakes is the perfect place to kayak or tube, and you can fish off the little piers the campground has along Hamlin Lake! There are so many relating activities to take part in. Also located in the state park is Big Sable Lighthouse. It is a 1.5 mile hike or bike out to the structure where you can climb to the top or pick something up in the gift shop.

If you don’t want to hike out the Big Sable Lighthouse, then perhaps North Breakwater Light located at Stearns Park Beach is a better choice for you. This light is a great place for a shorter walk, and it boasts a gorgeous view of the waves and sunset.

House of Flavors is a must-stop in Ludington. After you get your ice cream of choice, you can get your picture taken by the wings they have painted on their doorstep. It’s always fun to watch it sail into the distance as it makes its way to Wisconsin.

There are also several local restaurants and breweries to choose from. Jamesport Brewing or the Ludington Bay Brewing Company are both known for their excellent brews. As for eating, PM Steamers is a spot to satisfy your hunger while watching the marina. The Blu Moon Bistro is another great option that would be the perfect place for a date night.
