Silver Lake Sand Dunes – Hart Area COVID-19 Resources
The Silver Lake-Hart Area currently has the same COVID 19 requirements as the rest of lower Michigan. Masks are mandatory indoors, indoor gatherings less than 10pp, outdoor gatherings lest than 100pp. Bars with no food service, nightclubs, and fitness centers are closed.
Silver Lake State Park dunes and the ORV Area are open 9am-10pm every day. All area businesses are open 7 days a week.
The area is not one resort, it is the towns of Silver Lake, Mears, Hart, and the State Park. You can choose your lodging and activities individually. Renting vehicles to go out on the dunes it is best to make a reservation ahead of time. Parrots Landing Jeep Rentals, Wild Bills ATV, and Silver Lake Buggy Rental. Rental boats and Jet Skis are at WaveClub Watersports.
July 10, 2020 Governor Whitmer signed Executive Order 2020-147, which reiterates that individuals are required to wear a face covering whenever they are in an indoor public space. It also requires the use of face coverings in crowded outdoor spaces. Most significantly, the order requires any business that is open to the public to refuse entry or service to people who refuse to wear a face covering, with limited exceptions. The governor signed the order in response to rising COVID-19 cases in Michigan and across the country.
Silver Lake is open for 2020! The Silver Lake State Park ORV Area opened June 13. The State Park Campground opened June 22. All area Hotels, businesses, and attractions were opened by June 13 practicing COVID 19 Safety Procedures. Download our Area Map here 2020 SLSD-map-grid
Silver Lake State Park ORV Area & Pedestrian sand dunes areas and Lake Michigan Beach are open 7 days a week 9am-10pm
The State Park Sand Dunes pedestrian area and Lake Michigan Beach at Little Sable Lighthouse have been open and will remain open all summer & fall. For 2020 only, you can not climb the lighthouse.
Restaurants are limited to 50% seating inside.
