The Oceana County Department of Veterans Affairs Annual 5K run happens on the second Saturday of November. The race start/end is at the newly renovated Getty Park in Downtown Shelby and follows Industrial Drive north before looping back south on the Hart-Montague Trail. This is the primary fundraising event for the OCDVA and 100% of the proceeds stay in the county to support Oceana County Veterans for items such as transportation to medical appointments, food pantry, and other needs.
