We are often asked, “Why two Chambers?”
The Hart-Silver Lake/Mears Area Chamber of Commerce was established many years ago, when downtown Hart was thriving, and Silver Lake had not yet been developed into the popular tourist destination it is today. Through the years, priorities and needs for both areas shifted. Several years ago it became apparent that the Silver Lake Sand Dunes area had to pursue more specific marketing techniques in order to remain strong in the competition for tourism dollars. Thus the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area Chamber of Commerce was formed to focus primarily on marketing the Silver Lake Sand Dunes area. Today, both groups work together to help each other and the community. By working together, we can build a better future. By working together, we can offer visitors a complete package of goods and services to make their visit enjoyable. By working together, we will all enjoy a more prosperous community.
